Dr Hilal Ahmed : Representation & Marginalisation of Muslims in India Part2

Dr Hilal Ahmed is Associate Professor at CSDC Delhi. Currently a fellow at IAS Nantes France, Hilal has authored “Siyasi Muslim” published by Penguin India in 2019. His work “Muslim Political Discourse in Post-Colonial India” has been widely acclaimed. He is regular contributor to The Indian Express, The Quint, The Print and often seen on NDTV. While examining the question of Indian Muslim representation and marginalisation, Hilal breaks it in five different concepts i.e. representation, exclusion, participation, presence and marginalisation. His argument challenges the traditional belief that Indian Muslims are one unit and behave in same political manner. He describes the victimhood theory and suggest development of non-political leadership and involvement in “deep” politics.
