2017 NIC Fall Conference | Third Day Highlights

The last day of the 2017 National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) Fall Conference started with a showing of the documentary film I’ll Be Me chronicling Glenn Campbell’s struggle with Alzheimer’s while he went on tour. The film dovetailed with Wednesday’s feature session, highlighting current Alzheimer’s research and how real world operating models will impact future demand for the seniors housing industry. The day continued with an in-depth discussion on how seniors make their housing selection and how it impacts them, along with a deep dive by Dan Buettner of Blue Zones on his research into communities with thriving elderly populations. Finally, NIC Talks returned with speakers presenting findings that would guide the senior service industry, including Ted Fischer of Hasbro and Susann Keohane of IBM.
