Hi, I'm Dr. Carly Letzt Carney. I'm a chiropractor. And I am Dr. Mark Carney. I am a naturopathic doctor and an acupuncturist. We are a husband and wife team. Dr. Mark: At Your Healing Place, our philosophy is that the body is designed to be healthy and that it has an innate ability to heal itself. What we do here is support that natural healing ability using a variety of methods. I offer people options that they never even knew they had. These are natural solutions other than medications and surgery. At Your Healing Place, we have a comprehensive family practice and the types of patients that we see and the conditions that we treat are so vast that a typical day might look like a child coming in with ear infections, a woman who has hormonal imbalances such as hot flashes, an elderly man with prostate issues, a couple who has been unsuccessful trying to conceive and a woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. All of these patients will receive a unique, holistic approach. Irwin: "Several years, many, many years, like 10 or 15, I started to develop a numbness in both my feet, and literally, when I walked, I had no feeling of where to put my feet because my mind learned that. I went to orthopedic doctors, orthopedic surgeons, I went to a neurosurgeon, finally a neurologist, and the answer was, 'Nothing we can do except maybe we can stop it from getting worse.' I said, 'What about getting better?' He said, 'No chance. The nerves are gone and you have to get used to being in a wheelchair.' So I was about at the end of my rope when someone suggested Dr. Carney. I was a little skeptical but I came and I started some intensive acupuncture, and it started to get a little better and then a little better. At first, I couldn't get on the table at all, then I could, and now I don't even need a little box to stand on. My results were totally amazing. I could stand on a dime and tell you if it's face up or face down, almost. At one point, I wouldn't even know the dime was there." Dr. Mark: We offer acupuncture, massage therapy, physical therapy for the spine, chiropractic, nutrition, homeopathy, herbal medicine and naturopathic medicine. One of the things that makes Your Healing Place so incredibly unique is that we are the first and only Eco-Clinic in Colorado. What I mean by that is that we used recyclable materials, renewable resources, energy efficient equipment and we avoided the use of toxic chemicals. The reasons we did this were to be role models in our community and to offer our patients and our staff a healthy environment. Dr. Carly: Your Healing Place is a community and we work with people from all walks of life, and we work with newborns all the way to the elderly. I'm classically trained as a chiropractor and my approach is very gentle, yet very effective. Some of the issues that we see amazing results with are sciatica, low back pain, neck pain, disc herniation and stress relief. We provide support to women during pregnancy and we also provide support to couples having issues with fertility. Ann: "I woke up when I was a sophomore in college and I had pain shooting down the side of my leg. When I would get up to walk, when I would put pressure on my foot, my leg would kind of give out. I went to a few different doctors. They took MRIs and did x-rays, and there was nothing that they could see that was wrong, and they kept telling me that my problem was that I just wasn't standing upright, but I couldn't stand upright because it hurt. Everybody had tried to help me and steroid injections didn't help, but when I came to Your Healing Place, it was a much different approach. About a month of coming here twice a week, I felt a million times better. I actually could sleep, I could think. I went from not being able to move—I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself—to going skiing 35 times.
