Unidos do Viradouro chose the school's own drum director, Mestre Ciça (Moacyr da Silva Pinto), as its theme, under the title "Pra Cima, Ciça." ✅ Mestre Ciça, an emblematic figure of Rio de Janeiro samba, was born in Estácio, began as a samba dancer in 1971, became a drum master in 1989, and has worked for schools such as Estácio de Sá, Unidos da Tijuca, and União da Ilha. In 2026, he will celebrate his 70th birthday and 55 years of Carnival. During her career, Ciça led the Viradouro percussion section from 1999 to 2009, returning in 2019 and leading the school to titles in the 2020 and 2024 Carnivals. The school emphasized that the tribute was made during her lifetime, recognizing her career as a "samba dancer in essence, body, and spirit," a natural master and teacher, with boldness and professionalism, irreverence, and talent in movement.
