Dustin Poirier Takes Issue With Calf Kick Narrative That Lead to TKO of Conor McGregor

Dustin Poirier doesn't like the narrative that he TKO'd Conor McGregor due to the damage accumulation from the calf kicks. It is understandable that Poirier doesn't want his work with his hands to be diminished in what finished Conor, but it is undeniable that the calf kicks had immobilized McGregor to the extent that when Poirier started raining down looking for the finish, McGregor's right leg could no longer bear any weight and got put down while up against the fence and ultimately finished by Poirier. All credit to Poirier for the execution of his strategy during the fight, but the calf kicks were definitely the game changer of the fight. Joe Rogan also goes on to talk with Dustin about the evolution of the calf kick integration over the past few years. This Spotify JRE Podcast episode was from February about a month after Poirier defeated Conor.
