✨📖 Daily Gospel Reflection — January 2 📜 Gospel Reading: John 1:19–28 In today’s Gospel, we meet John the Baptist, questioned by religious leaders about his identity. John is clear and humble: he is not the Messiah. Instead, he points away from himself and toward Christ, calling himself “the voice of one crying out in the desert.” This passage teaches us the beauty of humility and mission. John knows who he is — and who he is not. His role is to prepare hearts for the coming of Jesus, to make straight the path for the Lord. Even though he attracts attention, he refuses glory and chooses faithfulness instead. As we continue the Christmas season, this reflection invites us to examine our own lives. Are we pointing others to Christ, or to ourselves? Like John the Baptist, we are called to prepare the way — through repentance, truth, and humble witness — so that Jesus may be recognised and welcomed in our world today. 🤍✨
