There's a focus on Hector Ayala's trial that leads to all manner of legal twists and turns, but even the twistiest lawyer drama isn't exactly the most thrilling thing to watch. Matt Murdock arguing the case for a vigilante certainly makes for a lot of interesting material on a thematic level, and all of the performances remain top-notch, but there's a disappointing lack of superhero intrigue because Daredevil doesn't make an appearance. Still, this episode creates a complex and dangerous dynamic between Murdock and the police force, and the shocking ending stayed with me long after the credits rolled.
