Mary Robinson: Clean cooking and energy access are crucial for sustainability

Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland, President of the Mary Robinson Foundation, and Member of the Leadership Council for the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, answers three questions on the topic, including: the role energy access and clean cookstoves play in sustainable development, gender equality and the environment; the role the Global Alliance plays in building a market for clean cookstoves and fuels; and what energy access and clean cooking means top refugees or people displaced by disaster, such as the earthquake in Nepal.
