Far Cry New Dawn is a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The game is a spin-off of the Far Cry series and a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019. The story is set seventeen years after the events of Far Cry 5. After the nuclear exchange known as "the Collapse" devastated the world, survivors attempt to rebuild the community in Hope County. Their efforts are threatened by the Highwaymen, a roving band of organized bandits led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou (voiced by Cara Ricketts and Leslie Miller).[4] With few other choices, the survivors form an alliance with New Eden—the remnants of the Project at Eden's Gate—despite knowing that they may represent a greater threat than the Highwaymen. The game is also expected to reveal the fates of the Deputy and Joseph Seed, the protagonist and main antagonist of Far Cry 5 respectively.[5] The player takes on the role of a new character nicknamed the "Captain", who is part of a group that travels the country assisting other survivor groups in need. Seventeen years after Hope County and the rest of the world is devastated by the nuclear war, the survivors that had taken shelter underground begin to emerge and rebuild society. The Hope County survivors found the settlement of Prosperity, but are soon attacked by the Highwaymen. Desperate for help, Carmina Rye, Nick and Kim Rye's daughter, appeals to another survivor group led by Thomas Rush and the Captain, but they are ambushed by the Highwaymen. They are confronted by the twin sisters who lead the Highwaymen, Mickey and Lou. The Twins attempt to forcibly recruit Rush, but he refuses and pushes the Captain into a nearby river.
