Thank you for tuning into our celebration of the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time! (We're only 645 subscribers away from 1000! If you stop to think about how many conflicting messages and signals we receive each day, you might realize how big a challenge Jesus had all those years ago. If you look even deeper, Jesus often spoke in codes and parables which poses a larger risk for people to misunderstand or be terrified of the things to come. With the news of things to come, Jesus gave us the secret key to heaven; the message of how to redeem ourselves so we can enter into the heaven that He described so lovingly and beautifully. The busy nature of the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons distracts and covers up a lot of the pain and confusion that some of us feel around the holidays. The joy of the Season, witnessed by others, might remind some of us of how lonely or empty we feel or sometimes believe our lives are. Even today's Gospel alludes to the destruction of temples and family relationships! While the littlest of things can upset or distract you, keep in mind it is the small, kind gestures and actions that mimic or promote the way Jesus lived that can turn somebody's day or even life around. Remember to spread goodwill all the time, not just when we're reminded of how difficult the journey may be or when the holidays roll around each year. God Bless, everyone!
