It was his 14th major championship. More than a decade later, his quest for a 15th remains a ratings magnet on television. Per Nielsen, viewership for Sunday’s final round of the PGA Championship on CBS was up 69 percent over last year’s tournament, earning a 6.1 rating in the age 18-49 demographic. The tournament was won by Brooks Koepka. But the draw was Woods, who shot a 6-under-par 64 to finish second, two strokes back. The ratings were the highest for the PGA Championship’s final round since 2009. The champion that year was Y.E. Yang. But the leader entering the final round was Woods. Woods’s revival at age 42 also included a tie for sixth place at the British Open last month. That earned a 5.0 rating on NBC/Golf Channel, the highest for the British Open since 2006."
