I started with a nice chord progression on the Hydrasythn and a melody on the Grandmother then started modeling the Subharmonicon in Blender for some accompaning animation. Finishing the animation, I still could not fit the Subharmonicon into the song. Frustrated, I patched the Subharmonicon to avoid any counter melodies. I liked the patch so much that I scraped the song and added random plucks from the Minilogue and used 2 LFO on the Hydrasynth to vary the drive and filter of a nice preset. I added some toms and a riser in the DAW to match the animation. Funny that you can spend a week on a song just to end up replacing with something that you finished in one night.
