“We want to see our region and the world free from conflicts. We seek to resolve disputes in accordance with justice and the principles of the United Nations, and we are committed to protecting the world from new conflicts. It was this very spirit that led Pakistan to play the role of a responsible mediator between Iran and the United States. While Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir demonstrated exceptional courage on the battlefield, he also played a historic role in promoting peace in the Middle East. This is Pakistan’s true identity and standing in the world. Following Saudi Arabia, Turkey’s inclusion in the defence agreement is a harbinger of peace for the Middle East and the Muslim world. Pakistan will continue to support the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, a just resolution of the Palestine issue, lasting peace, and the right to self-determination of the people of Kashmir.
