Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the new chapter in the saga developed by Insomniac Games, the first chapter to be released on Sony's brand new Playstation 5. According to what told by the developers Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is the direct sequel to Ratchet & Clank: Nexus (last chapter of the series released on PS3 in 2013) and the story of the new game starts right from the end of that chapter. The story of the game revolves around dimensional travel, due to a sudden malfunction of the Dimensionator created by Clank to allow Ratchet to reunite with his Lombax family in another dimension. But something is wrong and the Dimensionator goes mad separating Ratchet and Clank, the latter being catapulted into an alternate reality ruled by Doctor Nefarious where he also meets Rivet, a surviving Lombax member of the resistance.
