Crimea: the home we are fighting for

On February 26, 2026, on the Day of Resistance, an informational event “CRIMEA: the home we are fighting for” will be held, dedicated to understanding the events that began with the occupation of Crimea in February 2014, as well as the current security, political, and legal challenges caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The event will feature expert discussions on state policies for the de-occupation and reintegration of Crimea, the consequences of the militarisation of the peninsula for regional and global security, as well as systemic human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territory, including issues of international response, documentation of crimes, bringing perpetrators to justice, and protection of victims. Organizers: Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Office of the Crimean Platform, Crimean Human Rights Group, Human Rights Centre ZMINA, CrimeaSOS. Participants: representatives of state authorities, the public sector, diplomatic institutions accredited in Ukraine, human rights activists, foreign and Ukrainian experts.
