The BEST Clay Storage Trick - How To Store Clay

I use this one bag clay storage technique a lot in my studio. Sometimes I reuse small bags when storing clay in smaller amounts, I use 5 gallon buckets or containers but for bigger batches this is my go to technique. When I recycle big batches clay I sometimes have over 100 pounds and I don't feel like fitting it into tiny bags or having buckets all over the studio. It's a quick and very effective way to store clay. I learned how to store clay this way when I was in college mixing large 400 pound batches. We would use big lawn and leaf bags because it made eight or so layers of plastic to help keep clay soft while it homogenized. Clay stays soft for a while but it's good to check on in here and there to make sure. You may want to double up the bag if it's thinner.
