It is be healthy and testy breakfast option. We will see how to make batter for making idly in this recipe. It is made by soaking, blending and fermenting dal and rice. The batter is then steamed to make nice, soft and spongy idlies. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe. Ingredients: • 2 cups Rice • 1 cup Urad dal • 1 cup thick Poha • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds • 2~3 tsp Water • Salt to taste • Oil Method: • Take rice in a bowl and add urad dal, poha. • Mix well and wash at least 3-4 times really good with water. • Add fenugreek seeds and soak everything in enough water for at least 5-6 hours. • Transfer the mixture into a blander jar and blend into smooth paste. • Do not use any water at all while blending or if required use minimum water. • Transfer the batter into a pot. • Add a little water into the blender jar and blend it once. • Transfer the water into the batter. • This will help to clean the blender jar and adjust the consistency of the batter. • Add salt and mix well. • Cover and keep it at warm place for fermentation for at least over night or 12-14 hours until the batter rises to double in size. • Mix batter carefully once. • Grease idly mold well with oil and add batter. • Stack the idly molds on idly stand in crisscross fashion. Heat up 1-1 1/2” water at the base of the idly cooker. • Transfer the idly stand into idly cooker and close the lid. • Steam idly on medium heat for about 15-20 minutes. • After steaming for 20 minutes turn off the gas and let the idly be in the cooker for another 10 minutes. • Open the lid and check with tooth pick. If it comes out clean it means idly is cooked well. Take the idly stand out and take the idlies out with the help of knife or spoon. • Idly is all ready. You can serve it with sambar, chutney.
