Lets Play: Mafia Definitive Edition pt 5 The Hardest mission(Election Campaign)

This is the 5th part of my Mafia Definitive Edition. In this missions I play the next 3 missions plus one last intermission. in the first mission titled You lucky Bastard which takes place on May 13th, 1935 with war now apparent between the Salieri and Morello crime families, Salieri resolves to have Sergio, Morello's brother and underboss killed. When Sam and Vincenzo fail to kill him in a car chase in the night, Tommy is dispatched to carry out the job. He starts out first with a car bomb recieved by Vincenzo where he is instructed to rig it into Sergio's car, but the attempt fails and is taken out on a young woman instead. Shaken up on inadvertently murdering an innocent person, Tommy calls Vincenzo, who informs him that Sergio is hiding in a diner down the street. He meets with Sam and Paulie armed with Tommy guns and goes in to assassinate Sergio, only to botch it as Sergio used an innocent waitress to cover himself. After a short firefight, Tommy chases Sergio on a motorcycle throughout the city to the docks, with Sam and Paulie following, though both later fell flat. Alone, Tommy guns down the entirety of Sergio's army then encounters the younger Morello brother, who has been revealed to have been shot. Sergio boasts about his luck when Tommy's gun fails to fire, but Tommy comments that he wasn't very lucky at all and executes Sergio by burning him alive when the latter was cornered in flammable barrels, then leaves before the factory explodes.. In the next mission titled Crème de la Crème(best of the best) which takes place on May 20th, 1935. Sergio's death results in an all-out gang war between the Salieri and Morello Crime Families with the former slowly winning. Don Morello, realizing that he's losing influence, decides to host a charity gala after being in hiding from some time. Don Salieri tasks Tommy, Sam and Paulie with eliminating the rival Don for good after he comes out of the theater to send a message to Lost Heaven's elite; they will die if they cross the Salieri Family. As Tommy drives to the theater, the three wonder about Salieri's future. They arrive just as the show ends, with a visibly nervous Morello stumbling towards his car as he worries over an assassination attempt by Salieri. True to his worries, Paulie opens fire on him, but his shots miss and he's forced to stop when a convoy truck stops in front of the car. The three manage to fend off a good amount of Morello's men and bribed police, chasing Morello all the way to the air strip where they realize he intends to escape using a plane. Fighting off the rest of Morello's men at the air strip, they arrive just as they witness the plane take off. Knowing that Salieri would hang them out to dry and that they wouldn't get another opportunity otherwise if they failed, Tommy has Sam take the wheel as he manages to shoot and damage the plane's engines, causing it to lose control. They chase the plane across town where it crashes into an open lot. As the three step out, they find Morello, miraculously alive but severely injured. Tommy then pumps his body full of bullets, killing Morello for good. At Salieri's Bar, Salieri takes a look at a photo of him, Morello and Peppone. back in 1938 with the story of the gang war told, Detective Norman came to realize that he has been chasing Tommy for the last three years, and he warned Tommy that his actions of 1935 could land him a life sentence, or even death sentence. However, Tommy gave him a counter-offer: he'll give Detective Norman the family's account books, which contains enough evidence to put Salieri away, in exchange for his family's guaranteed safety. After the offer, Detective Norman puts out an old photo of young Morello and Salieri from their days of serving under Don Peponne. Detective Norman then told the story about Don Peponne's death in 1922 and its consequence: the eventual split between Morello and Salieri. In reflection of the previous gang war, Tommy thought that it only leads to a guaranteed death and fear of betrayal from his closest associates. In the last mission titled Election Campaign which takes place on July 15th, 1938 Election Day is coming, and Don Salieri puts a special concern on Mr. Turnbull, one of the governor candidates, for his promise to eradicate organized crime, threatening Salieri's family. Knowing that Mr. Turnbull is a hypocrite due to him having an affinity towards prostitutes, Don Salieri wants to rub him out during one of his campaign rally.
