Seven Dials Christmas Lights, London, 17th Nov 2018

Filmed on a Panasonic LX15/LX10. A walk around the Seven Dials area in London's West End to see the annual Christmas lights. In his collection of Sketches by Boz (1833-36), Charles Dickens remarks: "The stranger who finds himself in the Dials for the first time...at the entrance of Seven obscure passages, uncertain which to take, will see enough around him to keep his curiosity awake for no inconsiderable time..." Seven Dials is a road junction in the neighborhood of Covent Garden in the London Borough of Camden, West End of London where seven streets converge. At the centre of the roughly circular space is a column bearing six sundials, a result of the column being commissioned before a late-stage alteration of the plans from an original six roads to seven. The term also refers informally to the area immediately surrounding. Since it was originally designed and built by Thomas Neale during the early 1690s, the area has fallen into poverty and become a notorious slum area several times. Its present day appearance of bustling high end shops and commerce belies its more chequered past. Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_D.... The music is Panthurr - Girl Talk.
