Please say you'll be there! Why the Spice Girls aren't coming to Australia after all

Stop right there Spice Girls fans. It looks like the girl band aren't officially touring Australasia after all. Melanie Brown aka 'Scary Spice' sent fans into a frenzy recently after shouting "We'll see you in February in Australia!" to the crowd gathered for the UK reunion tour. However Mel B has backtracked on that announcement, clarifying that the other singers in the band hadn't actually signed off on it - yet. Mel B, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Horner (Ginger Spice) and Melanie C (Sporty Spice) took their 13-show Spice World reunion tour across the UK in May. Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) did not join the other singers on tour. Flushed with excitement, many Australians posted online sharing their hopes of seeing the band perform once and for all. Kiwi fans too hoped they might bring the tour across the ditch to New Zealand.  But alas, this dream may be too good to be true. On Monday, Mel B clarified that although she hoped it would come true, it wasn't an official announcement. "I announced it on stage yes, without everybody else signing off 100 per cent. But I figured if I put it out there, then maybe it's going to happen..." She said to Australian radio station 2DayFM. She said the tour in London did happen after years of putting the idea out there, "so I figured, Australia in February sounds pretty good to me". Mel B said people could pencil the dates in, however the other Spice Girls were "not on board fully yet" but she would "make sure it actually does happen". "We just did London and it actually happened so, Australia? Yeah, I will make sure it actually happens," she told the radio station. Scary Spice described the London leg of the tour to be surreal, humbling, scary and overwhelming. "It feels amazing, absolutely amazing." At the last concert of their reunion tour at London's Wembley Stadium, Horner apologised to the crowd for quitting the band back in 1998. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left. I was just being brat, and I want to say that's it's just so good to be back with the girls that I love."
