Is This Really Hungary? The Most Beautiful Fairytale Village

I finally visited Hungary’s most beautiful village! 🇭🇺 Tihany has been on my bucket list for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. It’s a tiny, fairytale-like village sitting on a volcanic peninsula right above Lake Balaton. If you’re ever in Hungary (it's only 2 hours from Budapest!), you simply cannot miss this place. Between the thatched-roof cottages and the smell of lavender in the air, it honestly felt like walking through a storybook. Which part of the village looks best to you? The Benedictine Abbey: This 1,000-year-old abbey is the heart of the village. The views of the "Hungarian Sea" (Lake Balaton) from up here are absolutely breathtaking. The Fairytale Houses: As we walk through the village, you'll see these incredible traditional houses with thatched roofs. Many are now tiny artisan shops where you can find local paprika, ceramics, and... lavender everything! Lavender Everywhere: Tihany is famous for its lavender fields. If you visit in June, the whole hill turns purple, but even in April, you can find lavender-infused treats and souvenirs in every corner. The Inner Lake (Belső-tó): It’s a peaceful spot inside the volcanic crater, perfect for a quiet stroll away from the main tourist paths. 🥾 Getting there from Budapest: It’s an easy trip!
