US-led coalition launches airstrikes against IS in Syria

The US has carried out its first airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria, together with its partner nations of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Bahrain. Pentagon Spokesman Rear Admiral John Kirby said the strikes involve a mix of fighters, bomber jets and Tomahawk land attack missiles.
