My friend and I were camping in the ancient forests of Norway. As dusk settled, a beautiful, haunting violin melody drifted across a still lily pond. We felt an irresistible urge to find the source of the music. Local legends warn against seeking out the musician by the water after sunset. We dismissed it as an old superstition, but what we saw in that pond was not human. It wasn't even alive. And my friend didn't make it out. This one-minute horror story is inspired by the chilling folklore of the Nøkken, a water spirit said to lure people to their doom with enchanting music.
