DS2: Old DragonSlayer (Guide) (Solo)

This boss was very fun to fight and should give you quite a rush while fighting. (more boss fight videos below) He can swing his spear up to 3 times, sometimes stopping at 2 if the player is too far. When he is done with his swings, this usually allows for 1 free hit (try not to be too greedy) He can also lunge himself from far away and stab you with his spear. If he misses or you dodge it, this is a perfect opportunity to get about 2-3 hits in before he recovers. His overhead slam scared me at first, but if you stay about 10 steps away from him you can get about 2-3 hits in. THIS is one of his very vulnerable moves. Finally, he can shoot little dark magic orbs and they can inflict some pretty high damage if your mage defence is low. These are pretty easy to dodge though so you should be fine. I can't say how to fight him with magic/ranged, but I would assume once he does his overhead slam/lunge attack, you can get 1-2 hits in before he recovers. That's all I really know from this boss from observation and a few fights with him. Hope you guys like the video!
