(24 Feb 2022) Scores of demonstrators in Istanbul joined a pro-Islamic association's protest on Thursday against Russia's military attacks on Ukraine. The demonstration included around a dozen Ukrainian expats living in Turkey, who participated in the protest outside of the Russian Consulate. "There is blood in Putin's hands," exclaimed one of the demonstrators, 26-year-old Olena. "We are trying to fight against just one enemy, Putin," added Polina Sorochkina, a Ukrainian expat living in Istanbul. "We don't know what will be next," said another Ukrainian expat during the protest, "right now our people are dying, really dying because Russia is bombing Ukraine." Demonstrators held signs and banners depicting Putin with the words 'murderer' and 'enemy of rights' as they chanted slogans against the Russian attack.
