Day 1 | Exploring Port Blair Day 1 in Port Blair began with a heart full of curiosity and respect as I stepped into the historic Cellular Jail. Walking through those silent corridors, I witnessed the real meaning of freedom—stories of sacrifice, courage, and pain that shaped our nation. Every wall echoed with struggles that words can hardly describe, each cell reminding us of the countless souls who endured unimaginable suffering so that India could stand free today. From there, the journey moved towards calm and healing at Corbyn’s Cove Beach . After the heavy emotions of history, the sea brought peace—soft waves, salty breeze, and a moment to breathe, reflect, and feel grateful for the freedom we live today, a freedom gifted by those who never got to experience this serenity themselves. As the sun began to settle, the day ended at Flag Point, a place where history was restored. This is the exact spot where Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose conducted the historic first flag hoisting, declaring the Andaman and Nicobar Islands free from British rule. Standing there was emotional, powerful, and unforgettable, as pride filled the air and the sacrifices of our freedom fighters felt alive once again. From sacrifice to serenity, from pain to pride—this was not just travel, it was a journey through freedom, a journey of remembrance, gratitude, and deep respect for every life laid down for our nation.
