Did you know that in 1971, the Indian Armed Forces achieved what no other army had done since World War II? 🇮🇳 This is the story of Vijay Diwas—the day India didn't just win a war, it created a nation. 13 Days: The duration of the war (Dec 3 – Dec 16), making it one of the shortest yet most decisive wars in modern history. 93,000 Soldiers: The number of Pakistani troops who surrendered—the largest military surrender since WWII. 2 Fronts: India fought and dominated on both the Eastern and Western borders simultaneously. 3,900 Heroes: Approximately 3,900 Indian soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure this victory. On December 16, 1971, General A.A.K. Niazi of Pakistan signed the 'Instrument of Surrender' in Dhaka before India’s Lieutenant General J.S. Aurora. This victory led to the liberation of East Pakistan and the birth of a sovereign Bangladesh.
