John Starks Reverse Baseline Dunk in the 1992 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. John Starks is a retired Professional Basketball player best known for making it to the NBA after not being drafted out of College. He went on to have a successful NBA career in which he made the All-Star Team, All Defensive 2nd Team, and won the NBA sixth man of the Year award. John played his collegiate basketball at Oklahoma State University and entered the 1988 draft, but went undrafted. The 1992 NBA Slam Dunk Contest featured 7 competitors; Cedric Ceballos of the Phoenix Suns, Larry Johnson of the Charlotte Bobcats, Nick Anderson of the Orlando Magic, John Starks of the New York Knicks, Doug West of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Shawn Kemp of the Seattle Supersonics, and Stacey Augmon of the Atlanta Hawks. The 1992 Dunk Competition featured a final round of Cedric Ceballos vs. Larry Johnson. Cedric Ceballos although clinching the victory due to two missed dunks by Larry Johnson performed a memorable blindfold dunk to close out the competition and become the 1992 NBA Slam Dunk Champion.
