Doctors unable to save Gaza conjoined twins

(28 Nov 2016) Doctors were unable to save conjoined twins born in a Gaza hospital last week. The twins were born in Shifa hospital last Wednesday but survived only six days. Doctor Allam Abu Hamda, Consultant paediatric and neonatal doctor at the hospital, said that most conjoined twins did not survive delivery. He said a lack of equipment and resources meant that they were not able to save the twins. The twins had two heads, two necks but one body. The rare case, which is known in medical jargon as dicephalic parapagus, occurs once every 200,000 deliveries Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork Twitter:   / ap_archive   Facebook:   / aparchives    Instagram:   / apnews   You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
