NAU Athlete Turns Professional

March 4, 2015 - NAZ Today discusses an NAU athlete that has recently signed to become a professional athlete. Brian Shrader is ranked seventh in the country for the 5,000 meter dash and is the third NAU runner to go pro in the past three years. Shrader announced his acceptance of sponsorship by posting to Facebook and Instagram. In his posts he thanked NAU, his teammates, and his coaches for the amazing journey. Shrader has been a major contributor to the Jacks since the start of his career in 2012 after transferring from Oregon. He qualified for the NCAA Cross Country National Championships his freshman year with the Ducks. Once at NAU, Shrader won his first two races in his Cross Country season and led the Jacks to their sixth Mountain Region Championship. In 2012, he earned his first All-American honor at the NCAA Championships and took fifteenth overall. Brian Shrader is quoted talked about this amazing opportunity and what he plans on doing in the future.
