Flood situation continues to remain grim in most parts of Assam. Thousands of people in the six districts of Dhemaji, Nalbari, Baksa, Barpeta, Jorhat and Dibrugarh continue to live in make-shift shelters. These six districts are the worst affected by floods this year. While the Brahmaputra and its tributaries continue to flow above the danger mark in several parts of the state, flood water has begun to recede in certain areas like Tihu.
