The film received mixed reviews from critics. The movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is filled with Marvel easter eggs, callbacks, and cameos. Kang, the first variant of Kang the Conqueror to appear in the MCU, appears in the Marvel Studios intro sequence. Janet van Dyne meets Kang while trapped in the Quantum Realm, and he seeks her help to restore his time chair. In the present day, Scott Lang has become a successful memoirist with a podcast and is mistakenly called "Spider-Man" in a coffee shop. Other easter eggs include a Baskin-Robbins cameo, Hope receiving a humanitarian award, and a City Lights Bookstore appearance. Cassie Lang, now a teenager, gets arrested for trying to help the homeless who lost their homes after the Blip, and her father, Scott, bails her out. Cassie's journey parallels Scott's story from the first movie. After bailing her out, Cassie shows Scott a shrunken cop car. In the car, Scott listens to his book, "Look Out For The Little Guy," which references the Avengers' time travel technology tests from "Endgame," including Scott turning into a baby and meeting Rocket. During a visit to Hope's parents, Hank and Janet, Cassie reveals she has been working on a device to make contact with the Quantum Realm. After an attempt to shut off the device, the five of them are pulled into the Quantum Realm. There, they encounter the rebels led by Jentorra and are attacked by Kang's forces led by M.O.D.O.K. It is revealed that M.O.D.O.K. is actually Darren Cross, also known as Yellowjacket. The group is then taken to Chronopolis, Kang's city. Kang demands that Lang help retrieve his power core, threatening to kill Cassie if he does not. Kang needs Scott's help to fix the multiversal engine core that Janet destroyed. Lang agrees, but only to stop the Kang variants from destroying the multiverse. When Lang enters the probability storm and is nearly drowned in a sea of variants of himself, Hope arrives and helps him acquire the power core. However, Kang reneges on the deal, capturing Janet and destroying her ship with Pym on it. Cassie and Jentorra join forces to fight Kang's army. Scott and Cassie fight against MODOK, and Cassie appeals to Cross' character, who turns on Kang, though this costs him his life. Janet, Pym, Hope, and Cassie return home through a portal after fixing the power core, but Kang attacks Lang. After a fight, Hope and Lang destroy the power core, causing Kang to be pulled into oblivion. Cassie reopens the portal, and Lang resumes his life. At an unbirthday party for Cassie, Lang rethinks what he was told about Kang's death but brushes it off. Ruben is now charging him for coffee.
