Ukraine Counterattacks in Bakhmut, Russia "Abandons Some Positions”, Guided bombs strike Chernihiv

Ukrainian troops have launched counterattacks in parts of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast on May 1. According to Ukrainian forces, Russian troops “abandoned some positions” in the area. Russian-installed Governor of Crimea claims a drone has been shot down in the west of the peninsula. A Russian guided-bomb strike on a closed school in Ukraine's Chernihiv region has reportedly killed a 14-year-old. Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defence has said its forces carried out missile strikes against Ukrainian defence facilities. Prigozhin said he needs at least 300 tonnes of artillery shells a day to continue the assault on Bakhmut.
