Instant Analysis from USC’s Tuesday Practice of Arizona Week

In this edition of Instant Analysis, USCFootball.com reporters Jack Smith and Chris Treviño discuss news and notes from USC's Tuesday practice of Arizona week. Jack and Chris have a stacked day to break down headlined by the return of Max Williams and Zachariah Branch to practice and the news that USC is "exploring" the idea of former #1 overall prospect Korey Foreman using a redshirt year. Branch was back in the punt and kick returning drills during the early portion of practice. So was Raleek Brown who had not been participating in the drills since asking to be moved to the scout team. Alex Grinch spoke to the media today after the defense's struggles in Boulder as well. Grinch was asked about Bryson Shaw's comments after the game about players letting him down and shot down the idea, instead taking the blame himself for the lackluster performance. He said that all coaches believe that any issue can be coached and said that he needs to coach the players through any miscues. Lincoln Riley spoke about the defense as well, doubling down on his postgame comments that the defense's issues this year are not the same as the ones from last year. He said that the Trojans are much better on the defensive line and don't get pushed around but did also note that the defense needs to improve on keeping the quarterback in the pocket and tackling on the perimeter.
