Mary made God visible

Mary made God visible Thursday, January 1, 2026 - Solemnity of the Mother of God Dear brothers and sisters, with the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, Holy Mother Church wishes to affirm with certainty, and without a shadow of doubt, that the Person of the Child born of Mary in Bethlehem is not a human person, but a divine Person, and precisely the Word of the Father, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity. And since Mary is not merely the Mother of the body that comes from her most pure womb, but the Mother of the Person of her Child, then she can rightly be called the Mother of God! Mother of God as man, clearly, and not as God, because as God the Word is coeternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God," as John reminds us in the beautiful prologue to his Gospel. But this most sweet and tender Mother of Jesus and ours also reminds us of another truth. If it's true that Jesus didn't need an inn to be born (there was, in fact, no room for them in the inn), it's because God can only "dwells" in a pure heart. Mary, through the purity of her heart, made God visible! Dear brothers and sisters, without purity of heart there is no God, and where there is no God, there is no Peace. This is the Mission of the Mother of God, which, as long as the world exists, will never be completed: To bring continually, through purity of heart Jesus back to the world, and the world back to Jesus, so that humanity may find peace!
