THE NEXT DAY! BACK IN NEW JERSEY -------------- Joes alarm went off and he climbed out of bed. he brushed his hands throuh his hair and stumbled to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face. paige didnt call him last night and he was wondering what had he done. he repeated his converstation with her yesterday in his mind, he didnt say anything wrong. he washed her from her mind and and went running. after 2 miles he saw another jogger, he slowed to a walk Brittany: i was hoping i'd see you here. Joe: you like to run too? Brittany: yeah. Joe: cool. Brittany: youre really cute. Joe: uh thanks. your pretty yourself. Brittany: i know. joe laughs Brittany: i bet paige never said that to you. Joe: said what? Brittany: how amazingly gorgeous you are. you know. brunettes need to stick together. blondes- theyre man stealers. Joe: are they? Brittany: yeah. i remember once how paige stole my boyfriend. his name was tyler. he was gorgeous, of course not as hot as you. Joe: really? that doesnt sound like her. Brittany: believe me it is. Joe: well she is still my girlfriend so you shoudnt talk about her like that. Brittany: why not? im only speaking my mind. and.. trying to help you out. Joe: trying to help me out? Brittany: you dont need paige, you need someone else. prefferably someone like me. Joe: Brittany... Brittany: shh dont say a word. kisses him -------------------------------------- back at camp an hour later- Paige ran on the beach to get her mind off things. It was only a few hours ago that kevin, frankie, and david called her saying that they were thinking brittany and joe were idont know becoming something. they told nick too. she just couldnt believe her OWN cousin would do that. scratch that, she could see that but not joe. she loved joe. he couldnt do that. shed been jogging for a couple of hours and stoped to sit. she couldnt stop thinking about joe and brittney so she called joes cell from nicks joe got off the couch satisfied. him and brittney had been making out for a long time and he liked her. she was bad and shes was conrolling. on the phone Joe: hello? Paige: joe? Joe: yeah hey. in the backround paige heard brittany Brittany: joeyy come back my lips are getting cold. Paige: JOEY?! I CALLED BECAUSE I DIDNT THINK YOU WOULD CHEAT ON ME! BUT THAT JUST MADE IT TRUE... Joe: paige.. Paige: ITS NICE TO KNOW I CAN COUNT ON MY FRIENDS, EVEN YOUR BROTHERS AND DAVID, BUT I CANT COUNT ON MY BOYFRIEND?! CORRECTION EX BOYFRIEND. SAY HI TO BRITTNEY FOR ME. ITS OVER JOE. GOODBYE. paige hung up on him paige threw the phone down it didnt break though which was good concidering it was nicks phone. paige was soo upset, even more upset then when her mom died. shes cried so hard and stared up at the sky yelling, at her mom up in the sky up in heaven Paige: crying hard WHY. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO. HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME MOM!! HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME AND DAD. HE WONT EVEN TALK. DAD, HE ONLY ONE WORD ANSWERS. WHY MOM. WHY YOU AND NOW JOE. WHY IS EVERYTHING GOING SO WRONG FOR ME! ITS LIKE EVERYTIME IM HAPPY SOMETHING HAS TO RUIN IT. OO PAIGE IS HAPPY TIME TO RAIN ON HER PARADE. sobbing hard nick is a few feet away from her, and he heard everything. he walks over next to her and sits down. he puts his arms around her and lets her cry into his chest. finally after the longest time the tears stop and paige i staring into his eyes Paige: what are you doing here? Nick: i-i dont know. Paige: i dont care im just glad youre here. they hug Nick: i-im sorry page. my brother- hes a jerk. i cant believe this would happen of all times. espeially when youre at your lowest after well you know happened. tears fall silently down paies face, nick wipes them away and stares into her eyes. the phone starts ringing and nick checks the caller ID. nick takes the phone and breaks it in half. Paige: nick yyou didnt have to do that. Nick: its okay i felt like it. nick and paige sit in the sand for a little longer his arm around her and her head on his shoulder. WHATT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?!!?!?
