Seattle pays $500,000 to settle wrongful death lawsuit in CHOP shooting
The City of Seattle has agreed to pay $500,000 to settle a wrongful-death lawsuit filed on behalf of the father of Lorenzo Anderson. 19-year-old Lorenzo was shot and killed on June 20, 2020, during the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest also known as CHOP. A man accused of stealing and flipping a car with an infant inside remained Friday evening at the King County Jail, where he is facing several charges, authorities said. Families impacted by gun violence, Mayor Bruce Harrell, and the Seattle King County NAACP held a somber but important remembrance Saturday, honoring all the lives lost in our area to senseless shootings. Across the country, hundreds of rallies were underway Saturday demanding an end to gun violence and shooting deaths.
