Body of man last seen in Great Miami River found

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - The body of a man who went missing while fishing has been found. Rodney Vehr, 47 reportedly tried to swim across the river on Saturday. His fishing partner said the victim was last seen in the water. Crews were back on the scene at the Great Miami River near Ross Township at around 8:30 p.m on Saturday. On Sunday, Colerain Township Battalion Chief Tim Beach said that the rescue turned into a recovery operation. Beach said that the river is deceptive: "It looks very peaceful out there right now but the actual river channel runs on the other side." Sonar and other technology were used in the water. Drones and a helicopter gave the crew a better view of the river. Rescue boats and a dive team searched for Vehr for hours on Sunday. He was found before 1:00 p.m.
