The latest on the fatal shooting of Jayland Walker by Akron police

Black elected leaders across Northeast Ohio are reacting to the shooting death of Akron resident Jayland Walker at the hands of police amid an overnight chase. 3News Investigates confirmed that Walker was struck dozens of times as more than 90 shots were fired by eight police officers early on Monday. Akron NAACP President Judi Hill has echoed calls for peace and understanding. "We understand the public outcry, because we are all upset," Hill said. "Out of all fairness and respect for the family, we need the information, and we're asking for that." U.S. Rep. Shontel Brown also released a statement calling for "a thorough and transparent investigation to fully inform Mr. Walker's family and our community and ensure accountability."
