He was not seriously injured.The attacker, Srinivas, the employee of a restaurant at the airport, took a selfie with Reddy. While doing so, he used the kind of blade used in fights to strike the YSR Congress leader's shoulder.Srinivas was taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh Police and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). RP Thakur, the state police chief, said a letter was recovered from the the attacker.The police have said the attacker was a YSR Congress supporter, and that he confessed to attacking Reddy to garner him sympathy. The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered an Special Investigation Team to investigate the case.MA Ganapati, CISF ADG (Airport Sector), denied any lapse on the part of the CISF. "The incident took place outside the airport terminal, before the frisking area," he said.
