A Baltimore police officer shot a gun-wielding suspect near The Block, officials say. City police said the shooting took place in the 400 block of East Baltimore Street early Thursday morning. Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said officers were on routine assignment, assisting in closing the establishments on The Block before the shooting occurred.
