SSX On Tour: Last Call Remix Race 5:16.33 (WR)

Documented WR: 14/23 Previous WR: 5:19:30 by REVirus This race is infamously the hardest record to achieve in the game. The preset record of 5:28 was clearly a mistake by the developers, and was meant to be 6:28. Dating back to around a year or so ago, I can remember being in the low 5:30's, and didn't think I could ever get the record. Exactly one year ago today, 12/30/20, I got the sub 5:28 with a 5:25:80. From around March to late April I slowly whittled down my times and eventually got a sub 5:20. I got a few 5:18's, and then 5:17's, and on April 23rd, I got a 5:16.81. This has been my PB ever since, and only today did I mange to beat it. I previously had a few grind sessions that could've managed it but they ended either due to my game freezing or burnout on my part. Exactly one year after I first got the record, I've finished off this race with a low 5:16. There was a time when I thought it was barely possible to achieve 5:18, but slowly but surely I got better and better. 5:15:9x is theoretically possible, but that would require four literally perfect runs, and I don't think it will ever happen. The major highlights of this run, are beating my PB on Last Call, and finally getting 1:34:xx on On The Rocks. What makes On The Rocks particularly rough is that the fast gate launch that you see here legitimately only happens about 1 out of every 20 attempts at best. Puts a lot more pressure on the attempts that get it, and makes the overall grind a lot more nerve-racking. Overall, my journey with this race has gone to places I never would've thought possible, and it's bittersweet to finally be done with the grind. For now I've a whole new adventure to undertake with the other two remix races, as well as getting all the other records.
