Please Subscribe! / @joeybergles Follow along with a full training session with a 12 year old athlete I coach online. I've been working with her and her mom online for the last 8 months. This was our 3rd in-person training session together. She plays golf, volleyball, and does track. I commonly get asked all the time - "Should kids be lifting weights?" What you see is how I approach training youth athletes - this is after 8 months of training and lots of repetitive bodyweight movements and very slow progressions adding weights. It's important to play the long-game with youth athletes and do things right. I unfortunately see way too many kids lifting weights they have no business handling. This will lead to injuries down the line. Speed and plyometric work are a priority for me when working with kids and are in every training session.
