1971-72 Television Season's 50th Anniversary: Here's Lucy (closing credits)

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. As has become our recent tradition on Mother's Day, we pay tribute to Lucille Ball and here many achievement on television. Today, we look back at Here's Lucy, that was in its fourth season during the 1971-1972 network television broadcast season. We also continue our April and May focus on the big Hollywood stars who were working on television during the 1971-1972 season. Although Lucille Ball had not been a huge Hollywood star in feature films prior to the 1950s, she (and Desi Arnaz) became two of the biggest, most important people on television over the two decades to come. They became Hollywood legends. This video clip is the closing credits for an early 1971 episode of Here's Lucy. By season 4, Desi Arnaz Jr. had left the series to focus on feature film work, so Lucille, Lucie and Gale Gordon were now the remaining core of the series.
