Target Purse Snatching Suspects Arrested

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Mobile Police say they've arrested the people they believe stole a woman's purse in braod daylight at a busy west Mobile shopping center. Daniel Poweel and Shannon Laurio were arrested and taken to jail Friday morning. Police say the couple knocked a woman down at the Target on Schillinger Road Saturday afternoon, took her purse and ran off. Police say the victim took a hit and suffered scrapes and bruises, along with broken teen when her face hit the concrete. "This was an innocent victim doing nothing but grocery shopping when these people decided to target her and make her a victim. She did nothing wrong in this situation," said MPD spokesperson Ashley Rains. Police say this is not the first crime for the two suspects. They say the pair may have been involved in a similar incident at a Walmart. Both are charged with robbery.
