Princess Purdy the Easy Going Family Dog

Princess Purdy the Easy Going Family Dog

First things first, before reading any further and go watch Princess Purdy's adoption video. You'll be falling in love in no time, so go watch it and then come back! Isn't she the sweetest thing ever?! We totally agree and so do her foster parents. They cannot stop raving about her and have said out of all of the dogs they have fostered (which is quite a lot) Purdy is in their top 3 easiest dogs they have ever fostered! She is easy going, sweet as can be, a great companion, and just loves to be included. Princess Purdy is believed to be a Lab/GSD mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 54 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One thing that is certain with Purdy, is that she is a total sweetheart and she loves the couch! Her foster mom specially said she hopes her forever home allows her on the couch or just buys Purdy her own little couch because that is her favorite place to be. Just call her the couch princess and consider her your new couch accessory LOL. Not that she thinks the is the ruler of the couch by any means, she just loves the couch and believes they are the coziest things to ever have existed. Purdy shares the couch with her foster siblings and with everyone in her foster home. Speaking of, Purdy is currently fostered in a home with three kids ranging in ages from 4, 7, and 8. That word "princess" in her name comes in to play again because she is a total princess around the kids in her foster home. Purdy is so incredibly gentle with all of them, patient, and is even a regular guest with tea parties. If your kids are in sports, Purdy will gladly go to little league and practice! She has attended her foster human sibling's practice and a few of his games and she was perfect princess the entire time! Purdy is very dog friendly and she is currently fostered in a home with two other dogs. One of her foster siblings is an older cattle dog mix about 45 lbs who is deaf and the other is a young little rascal about 13 lbs that loves to play! Purdy does great with both of them! She has been very respectful and mindful of the older dog who is deaf that likes to do her own thing and not really interact too much with other dogs. Her foster's say that Purdy from the get go was so gentle and respectful around their older dog and they really appreciate that about her. When asking about the smaller younger dog in the home, Purdy's foster mom best described him as, "Denice the menace" LOL. He loves to play, has a spunky little personality and is a total goofball. Princess Purdy is so incredibly tolerant with him and his silly little antics. She is so gentle with him when they are playing together and is very mindful about their size difference. It's almost as if she looks at him like he's her little brother. She let's him beat her up, mess with her when she's trying to take a nap, will wrestle with him when she's up for some play time, and enjoys going on walks with him. When she really wants a break from him, she will simply sneak away and then he finds her again LOL! If you don't have other dogs, that's fine too. Purdy does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable or to satisfy her energy needs. She will naturally need a little time to adjust in her new home and she has a well balanced energy that she can adjust to whatever you need. Purdy has wonderful house manners and her foster's have raved about how wonderful she is. It didn't take her long at all to get the lay of the land, feel comfortable in her new foster home, get the routine down, and make herself feel right at home. Her foster mom says that it barely took her a week to get her bearings. They gave her time to acclimate, gave her affection when she asked for it, and just gave her time. That's all she needs. Even with the kids in the home, they respected her space and let her come to them. Princess Purdy would love to go to a home that has a backyard where she can sunbathe, explore all the smells, stretch her legs, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. She also has the potential to thrive in an apartment/condo that is in a residential area. She walks easy on a leash and doesn't require a lot of exercise. Her foster parents currently take her on 2 walks a day and that is perfect for her. She is also totally down for lazy couch snuggles too if the weather doesn't permit for a walk. Purdy is crate trained, knows how to sit, and loves treats! Purdy is a one of a kind girl who is very deserving of a home to call her own. It’s her time to shine!
