In 1938, the former model, vocalist and radio personality was signed independent studio, Grand National inked to star in a series of westerns. Billing her as "The Singing Cowgirl," Ms. Page was attractive and had a pleasant singing voice, but didn't find favor with fans of frontier films. The series, as well as Grand National, rode off into the sunset with the release of her third and final film, THE SINGING COWGIRL, in 1939. For her initial film, WATER RUSTLERS, the comely cowgirl received positive notices from reviewers. Pix, reviewing in the February 25, 1939 issue of The Independent Film Bulletin praised the indy oater and commented, "With our cowboy dare-devils becoming more sissified with every release it was bound to be only a matter of time until somebody came along with a cow gal who could give them a head start and still run rings around them.
