Review: Naxos' Totally Brilliant Choral Music Box

This 30-disc set contains more than 500 years of choral music in every possible genre--over 31 hours of music in all. Arranged alphabetically by composer, much of the repertoire is unique to the Naxos label, but you also get a few expected favorites by the likes of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Handel, Brahms and Vivaldi. Where else are you going to find a collection in which those chestnuts rub shoulders with the likes of Penderecki, Janácek, Lassus, Donizetti, Pärt and Whitacre? Really, this is an outstanding collection, and an amazing bargain.
