Foreign warships reach Sydney Harbour for training exercises

Warships from the US, Japan, South Korea and Australia are in Sydney Harbour for an annual quadrilateral exercise. The ships, docked at Garden Island Naval Base, will participate in Exercise Pacific Vanguard which is set to take place off Australia’s east coast this week. Former Pentagon adviser Jason Israel told Sky News the four countries are showing that even during a COVID-restricted environment they want to move forward with practicing an interoperability of their services. “We should remember here in Australia, that it isn't just Australia, but all of Australia and its allies that are critical to the defence of Australia in this region," he said.
