Highlights of 2009 A Magical Evening

The 19th Annual A Magical Evening gala was held on Monday, November 9, 2009. This year's event placed a special focus on the 1.275 million spinal cord injured Americans that the Reeve Foundation serves, and the loved ones that support them. There was a spirit of hope and a tremendous amount of camaraderie in the room, which set this gala apart from previous years. Richard Kind kicked-off the event with a champagne toast, and other notable speakers included, Will Reeve, Jane Krakowski, Meryl Streep and Caroline Rhea. The first half of the program ended with a stellar performance by Ali Stroker, singing To Be a Lion, which beautifully captured the perseverance and determination of those living with spinal cord injury. The great music continued into the second half of the night with renowned vocalist Colbie Caillet singing 3 of her current hits. Our hearts were again lifted by the inspirational words of our new partner, Jesse Billauer, from the Life Rolls On Foundation; followed by the exciting entrance of Paul Tuetel Sr. from the TLC show, American Chopper, who drove in on his latest creation - a fully, wheelchair accessible motorcycle! With so many unique highlights, this year's unforgettable evening was truly magical.
